I bought a mid 60's Shasta that was titled 1972... Apparently here in AZ if you've lost the title you can take it to the DMV and have it titled whatever year you choose? The PO told me he'd lost the title, took it down and the DMV applied a new VIN sticker... My dilemma is going to be trying to reverse what this guy did and get it registered for the correct year. What state are you in? I am in North Carolina.

I recently purchased a 1981 Sunline Trailer with a Bill of Sale Only. When I went to begin the process of getting a new title, the DMV Police came out to investigate the trailer. When they did, they found in their system that this trailer was previously sold for parts and that there was nothing they could do in the process of registering because of this.
Has anyone come across this before? Can I remove the VIN and repaint the body and re-register as a home-built trailer?
