I am planning a Trip to Berkeley to see the kids. So am looking for a way to discuss places to put the Shasta for awhile and still get into the city. Also things to see and do. Being new to the travel group, I was wondering if anyone knows of a chat site or group that has a way to discuss campgrounds and surroundings?

Heading out to CA and WA from Chicago, in May. We would like to know of any events we might be able to be a part of during this time. We are leaving Chicago area beginning of May and headed through Lawrence KS, Denver and San Francisco before heading north to Seattle. Does anyone have ideas for us to see or do along the way. Pulling out 64 Shasta.

Just came home from a beautiful camping trip to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park in Florida, We were trying to get out of the cold in Chicago. The gentleman next to us informed me I needed to have a Break a way on my camper in order to vacation in many states. I have a '64 Shasta 1500 with electric brakes and pull it with a 2015 Tacoma. Do I need the Break a way? What states require them? Anyone help me out?

I have a gas wall furnace which came in my 64 Shasta 1500. I have cleaned off the rust and wanted it to look good so I painted it with enamel which matched the putty color perfectly. Problem, It can not take the heat and smells terrible and has browned, when the furnace runs. Ideas? What was the paint that was on it originally?

My wife and I are looking to head out of the Chicago area in the next few weeks and head south to warmer weather. Is anyone aware of vintage trailer rallies or good places to go? We have been to Key West and didn't want to go that far this trip. Our son and daughter-in-law live in NOLA and we will be sure to visit them. Help us get out of the cold!

That sounds like a lot of tongue weight. Is it possible to put half in the back to spread the load? What are you using to pull?

I understand this. I have also read that the swimming tubes when cut will fit nicely on the wings. I still need a source of where to get a good cover. and yes, I had the tarp abrade through the paint this last windy winter season. So, Where do I turn? My good buddies at VTT to answer my questions and point me in the correct direction. Come on guys and gals. Help me out. MW

Anyone know of a source to get a quality cover that will fit and protect. I have a 64 Shasta 1500 with wings and am looking for a nice protective cover. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have one which I cleaned and polished so that it looks nice too, but I find out I am missing the piece that screws to the lamp and supports the mantle. In other words inside the shade is a threaded piece but no ceramic piece for the mantle. Anyone know where to find this? I cannot seem to locate much information.

all new framing and plywood for the whole camper. 15 sheets of birch and 6 !/2 quarts of shellac. 12 1X6 ripped down for framing. Pocket screws glue styrofoam insulation and then back together. Yep, I replaced it.

Okay then, I also have a 1500 1964. I believe it came from the east coast but I could be wrong. Ford 13" wheels? I like that!

I stick by my self clean oven method. But I have tried the oven cleaner once. It continued to leave a weird smell in the cast iron. 500 degrees for 3 hours and back to new condition.

Oh, that silver coat. Might as well throw all the skin away and start fresh. What a great little find. Top dollar... $5.00.
