Guys, we have the Owen's Pedmatic 2 . This photo has the owner's manual in it. It's day 3 of being involved with it and i'm betting there's recommendations in there as well. If anyone would like copies of these owners manuals, let me know. sadamstrailer.blogspot.com/2014/07/here-we-are-again.html

thanks for your answers guys. i am so excited about having a real toilet that the idea of lugging our waste (and other people's) around is not an option yet....yet. At least I do not have to consider peeing in the woods anymore. The shower is the big issue...we could drain it onto the ground but that's going to be a mess. I see us running a 25ft hose to accomodate shower run off if that happens, and sourcing environmentally friendly soaps.

For reference; without water or propane I think our Aljo 1700 (much like a Shasta) was about 2850lbs tongue weight. That's pretty heavy. Hope yours is lighter!

Hey Zipper!
I haven't figured out how to import saved photos onto here either. I use a photobucket or blogspot account to do my attachments.
Welcome to the boards! I'm a newbie here too. Not a newbie all the way around but definitely here.

Two comments, in answer to your questions and comments:
- Yes, those windows are worth money! Everything in that trailer, originally, would be worth something to someone. You can sell them on tin can tourist classifieds, or if they have classifieds on here go that route! I would imagine that they are a stock size and look pretty basic.
- Based on the shape and size of the trailer, I'm gonna support the idea that is mid-1950's to early 1960's, probably leaning toward the earlier. - Please, please, consider getting 1 or 2 of the C02 (or multipurpose) smoke alarms, they will run you about $20 each. Every layer of barrier can also hold toxic fumes, the trailer was not designed to be as airtight as it is now and whatever design compensations were made for preventing gas build-ups have undoubtedly been removed.
When I first saw it, my initial thought was that 'on a foundation' there would have to be a nod toward local building codes. My guess is that was never explored when the past repairs were done. People will do a lot of bandaid repairs when they are cold, scared and out of options. Whoever lived there obviously saw it as a permanent home. Sad that they had to live that way!
Good Luck with the identification. My guess would be either a Revere or a Landola. Google them.

Hey Guys!
I am a Vintage Shasta website member who was crushed to hear that website is gone. It was so great to hear that this one is here...I'm thankful!
We owned what was believed to be the last of the 1957 Aljo (17ft) trailers. A financial emergency in 2011 necessitated selling it and I was devastated beyond words. Now, two years to the week we sold Aljo, we have a 'new' trailer in the driveway. It is a no-name???, 1972 trailer, about 19.5 feet in length with a shower bathroom. I'll get photos posted soon.
So, nice to meet all of you! I have plumbing questions and also posted in that forum. Any help would be appreciated.
Can't wait to trade adventures and war stories here! LOL

What is a portable blue water tank?
Is it true that you can tie into a camp ground's sewer system, thereby eliminating the need for black water tanks?
We just bought a 1972 with no sign of ever having a black water (used water) tank on board. It has an installed toilet, a shower and a kitchen sink. I have to wonder what the assumed use for this system would be.
Any advice appreciated!

I'd love to hear more about portable blue water tanks.
Also, how does one tie into the campground's existing sewer system? Do you need special hoses to do it?

Hey Guys,
I found an ad this week for a 19.5ft, 1972 trailer with a propane fridge and a shower (bless my stars). We scored it for $500! It's in working condition and only has a few things to work out. For this price, we'll wait and live with the status quo for the summer, just enjoying the basics.
I have one immediate question though: Through modification or design, I dunno which, our trailer has no on-board waste tank. I do not know how they got away with an installed toilet and shower, along with a kitchen sink, and no waste tank! My husband has a friend who described seeing portable tanks that required storing and pumping often. I cannot imagine that being a viable, permanent, solution to the problem.
Has anyone else seen this situation before? I am going to post this on one of the other boards on here too, since this one is an introduction post. Any advice would be appreciated!
