I’m completely reskining by 64 Shasta SC. New metal has auto edge on bottom. What are people using to trim out wheel well openings? I’ve seen door edge guards, but most of them are rubber. I’m assuming there is a flexible, bendable, paintable material that can be attached without bulky screws?

In most cases, you would use the same J trim that is used on the 2 outer edges for the wheel well cut outs.

Try to find malleable aluminum J rail as well. Some is more 'bendy' than others...

I'm at the same point in my trailer so I appreciate this thread. Does the jail rail get attached to the underside of the wheel well? Is the rounded part toward the outside? Do you have a picture of it installed? I've looked and not seen a close up picture. Thanks!

Yes, the rounded part is to the outside which holds the skin at the wheel well. Wheel trim is not puttied but is allowed to drip and breathe. Almost all of the pictures here of a whole trailer will show the wheel well trim.

Thanks-I appreciate the replies. Now I understand how the j-rail is bent around. I hadn't found a close-up picture of the wheel wells and couldn't tell from the other pictures how it was done. I traced the outline of my wheel well on some 1/4" plywood then did the same with some 2x4 "chunks". I cut them with the band saw and attached them to the plywood so I could bend the j-rail around it. As I bent the j-rail around the curve I screwed it down with #6 screws so it wouldn't twist. I'll cut it to the proper length today, paint and install it. Thanks for the info!

In the future you can take your original pieces to a automotive restoration shop or a tech school that teaches automotive body work and they usually have a tool called a Shrinker Stretcher and they can take a straight piece of metal and make it contour to the shape of the wheel well opening.
I have use one of these many times. Danny
