This thread has been interesting. It was enough for me to have to deal with my 30-to-15 amp cord adapter....any other work and I'm hiring someone. It's all about understanding what the task is at hand, even if you can't physically tackle that part of the rebuild. If you have any questions or concerns, ask until you do understand. Even if you hire out certain parts of the rebuild, you need to how it should be done correctly, in order to make sure that you have a travel safe camper to enjoy, for years to come. When I first started my first teardrop camper build, I knew nothing. I joined a teardrop build forum and asked tons of questions and compiled folders of printed information. Once the build had started, I realized that I didn't trust myself enough to handle the electrical side of the build or how to use fiberglass & epoxy for the mahogany exterior. I asked a lot of questions, until I was comfortable to use epoxy and glass. As for the electricity side, I hired that part out and did so on 2 more builds/rebuild (1 more teardrop and our first Shasta), until I was confident that I could do it myself.
