Im restoring a 1962 Shasta Airflyte that was missing the curb side wardrobe and I need some help in constructing a new one. I need a full scale template of the vent holes in the wardrobe that look like this )|(. All it would take is for someone to place some heavy or backed paper on the inside (or outside) and trace the opening from the opposite side. The drawing could then be scanned into digital format for sharing. Also if anyone had specific dimensions of the cabinet, doors (WxH), openings (WxH) that too would be of great help. Fortunately someone had painted the wardrobe and walls before removing the wardrobe, leaving me a ghost image of structural members from which to begin reconstructing. Any information provided will be of great assistance to me!

I have a '64 with the original all intact. I'll try to get you these measurements before it gets dark today.

Yeah I noticed that they were kinda loose with the measuring tape. Im more interested in replicating what they " intended " rather than exact measurments down to the fractions. In other words I'd rather replicate a 16.125" x 20.375 door as a 16"x20.5" instead of replicating as a 14"x25". It's the OCD in me...123. If i can get em as close as the hung over employee did on Monday morning back in 62 I'll be happy.

Also how thick was the birch ply at the end of the curbside dinette?

Do you have any of the wardrobe cabinet intact? I got started today just before sundown (you know, 3:30 PM...) and ran out of light. I did get some photos of the tape measure and will post em as soon as I can host em.
All of the panel surrounding the dinette, curbside and streetside walls, and the front curved wall, are all constructed using 1/8 inch birch. I tried getting a couple shots but it was too dark.

I had a rain day. Actually, 40 hours of rain are expected.
As soon as the tarp dries I'll uncover the Airflyte and take a few photos.

No, I have no wardrobe other than a ghost image. As far as the birch is concerned, even the end wall of the curb side seat is 1/8" ply? Seems like a volatile area to get slaked off or broken. What with all the traffic in that area and people skooching in and out of the seats.

Some snow and it gets real stupid around here when it snows. People start calling their Grandma and saying "Hey, ya'll looked out the winder? You better git choo some bread and milk cause its a snowing!"

Excellent! Actually I guess I lied when I said I had "no wardrobe". I forgot that I do have the tip out drawer. Lol! These measurements are great. I do still need a template for the vent in the wardrobe. )|(

It's the internal vent cut into the sidewalls to allow airflow to your clothes. It's the one shaped like this )|(.
