This is at a rest stop on the way back from the rally in GA. We camped along the Blue Ridge Parkway on our trip home. It was an excellent two weeks. Something you should be aware of if you put on new skin from Hemet Valley. Ten times a day you have people ask if your camper is a reproduction. I guess the skin looks too good for an antique. Now as people walk up I say..."It's a 1962 Forester", before they can ask if it's a Shasta reproduction. Another reoccurring thing people ask is how long the camper took me to restore. When I say 4-5 months 40 hours a week they're shocked. I say, "I don't want to brag, but I make about $1.75 an hour doing restoration work". My wife has heard me use that line 100 times in the last two weeks.

I knew you were making too much money. You're only supposed to make $1.75 on the whole project. Or am I the only one who does that?

I can always tell if somebody has really done a full restoration...they don't laugh when I say I make a $1.75 an hour. The next rally I'm making a photo board of the entire process. My favorite comment about our camper came from a 6 year old girl, "It's too small and it stinks like somebody has been cooking in here!" She then opened the closet and said, "My closet at home is bigger!" Her mother was horrified but I'm still laughing.

It looks great! not surprised people thought it was a reproduction. Did you take any photos of other cool campers at the rally? pics?

Oh wow! That fourth one down all aluminum with two solid front windows is a Main-Line... I'm working on one right now. Cool to see it all clean and polished up.
