Hi,
I replaced 11" of flooring at the rear of my trailer. The new piece meets the old piece inside of storage compartment so doesn't need to be pretty. Metal flashing? A long piece of wood that sits on top of the seam? Glue?

Can you get to the underside? My Shastas have had a piece of ply at the seam, but under the floor, not on top. Also, you'll need floor joists at the seams to support the new piece.

Hi Vikx, yes, I can get to the underside and yes, the seam is on a joist. Are you recommending I bolt a piece of new plywood on the underside to cover the seam? |

If the seam is on the joist, attach the plywood to the joist. The seam shouldn't be exposed if it's on a joist?? If you want to seal it, caulk the joint.

Sorry, maybe my terminology is off. The new piece sits on top of a piece of wood that's attached to my metal frame (the wood is up against and runs in parallel with one of my metal frame members - that's a joist right?) so the seam is only exposed on the top/inside of the trailer. It's not exposed underneath.

You can use floor leveler inside on the seam, then sand flush. Be sure the ply is securely attached to the joist.
