1964 FAN windows will not close completely? All the rock hard dry rubber window seals are removed. Right side has a new crank operator. With windows cranked shut as far as they go there is a 5/16" gap, too much gap for the window to touch the rubber seal. I had to put spacers behind the new operator for it to shut. Has anyone had this problem? I need new rubber seals but if window does not shut what good are new seals. We can not drive in the rain like this. I might need to duct tape the windows to keep rain out. I sure could use a window guard.

It took a lot of cleaning and oiling of the pivots before I could get the windows on My camper to close all the way. They were pretty stiff in the pivots. I thought I was going to need new operator mechanisms too, until I got them all loosend up.

With the crank device removed the window closes all the way so that proves there is nothing wrong with the window. With the new crank device in place window will not close and I can not push it closed by hand so that proves the window is hitting something that I can not see. Only thing I can not see is the crank arm inside the square tubing. The crank arm is about 1/8" thick by 3/8" wide I used to belt sander to remove 1/16" of the metal now it measures 1/8" x 5/16" and the window works perfect. It closes all the way. The new crank devices are not 100% perfect. New window seal rubber is ordered soon as it arrives this window will be finished for now.
