Finally grabbed some tools and got started. Woo. Rot rot rot. I was able to get the front unattached. Got started on the from window, which appears to be riveted instead of screwed. I'll tackle that tomorrow. !

Probably Dreaded Twisty Nails instead of rivets. They are a real pain to remove with out dents and damage.

Yes older trailers often have twisties everywhere. My 57 Shasta has the door installed with them. Ugh.

Go to the parts store, or Snap On tool truck, tell them You want one of those wood handle heavy duty scrapers. When You get the scraper, grind the wood away from the butt end of the handle, leaving a good portion of the steel shank exposed. If You dont do that the wood handles will split. then You can use the scraper like a thin chisel, place it between the two layers and strike the end of the steel shank with a hammer. That will start the twisty nails out, then You can use a claw type nail puller and finish them off. Using this method will decrease the possibility of creating a lot of damage.

oH Heck, thats not so bad. It needs a restoration job, but I dont see where there is huge chunks of rotted wood that has, or is falling out.

So it seems the wood that disenegrated is plywood. It's between the frame and the skin.

Don't go too far without paper and pencil drawings and measurements to go along with copious photos. Especially if you plan to reuse old skin. These drawings will help you to remember exactly where wires etc need to be to fit original access holes... ask me how I know that. I'm doing a mix of original sides and new front top and back and am jumping hoops for lack of that drawing. And save everything you remove until you've replaced it with new.

I'm taking pictures but I love the idea to sketch too.
