69 ARISTOCRAT I've decided to start a "journal" of sorts to document the rebuild of my newly acquired 69 Lo-Liner. This is what it looked like the day I found it. Looks pretty good. Turns out, looks are deceiving... lots of wood rot front and back due to busted glass. Good news is, its complete. So here we go... I had to dig under it to get a jack under there so I could get the wheels off, replace tires and drag it up onto level ground where I ran some wires for lights. Towed it directly to the shop to start the teardown.

Got it to the shop in one piece.. amazingly. Pulled the exterior skin off to reveal lots of needed work. Thanks to all the rebuild threads here and Mobiltechs videos, I've got plenty of help, IMG_8445

The roof looked great, no leaks here. This may be the only wood that doesn't get replaced... IMG_8518

the front and rear framing literally fell to dust when metal was removed. This is after removing the cabinetry inside in preparation for wall removal. IMG_8394

Streetside rear lower... may have to use the metal to see the actual shape that this board used to have. This corner had dropped about 4". IMG_8386

And now after sandblasting the frame, a little color on the front and fencepost paint on the rest per suggestions found here..the floor wood will get a good coat of this too

The start of the floor rebuild... used some hardwood I had for the rails under the floor, on top of the frame outriggers

The original had metal here underneath on the step up to the dinette, so I got a piece of flashing to replace the old.

While it was up on jack stands, leveled for the rebuild, I figured it would be a good time to clean up the brakes and make sure they work. Also pulled the bearing apart to inspect, re pack or replace them and the seals.

Got all the floor pieces cut/fit/bolted down. Now have to pull it all back off to seal it. Then I can staple the wheel wells on and put it back down for good.
