Wow.. he was doing it the right way.. back in 62. I guess back in the day everyone understood how they were built and not to gut them from the inside..

The story was that he got the the aluminum from the factory (I assume in the large crate visible in most of the shots), and the instructions as well. The photos were taken in Newberg, which is in the Willamette valley not far from where Aladdin, Aloha, and a few other Oregon manufacturers were located. I'd swear that's a dead ringer for an Oasis paint scheme, though, which was a California manufacturer.

It is definitely an Oasis pattern. I wonder if one of the Oregon manufacturers took over the larger model? Could be... or it was custom made?? Very cool old photos Datac!
