I have several access doors. 2 are in good shape. The other 3 (2 trunk and one side) i have been able to save the doors but not the hinges....those hehr type that attach to the frame with the rubber that seals the frame to body and door to frame. Im thinking of using alu. Piano hinge and a rubber shim to take up the offset built into the original hinges. They are each 15 1/2". Any better ideas? I doubt there are 3 stock hinges without doors out there affordable. Thanks .

You might be able to configure something, by using a "Hurricane Hinge" that were and are used on teardrop campers. There are several different styles, one has got to be close.... Teardrop Trailer PartsHere are 3 of the profiles that might work, The last 2 are the same profile, one is for offset application and the other is for flush mount: If you can get the hinge part working, creating the rest of the frame with extruded aluminum, shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanks Ross. I'll play around with that top one . The frames I have are ok and perhaps that could rivet to door and screw through frame to backing like orig.

You might be able to call and talk with Frank Bear and see if he can send you a very small sample of the hinge to play around with and just tell him what you are wanting to do. This way you won't buy a long piece just to see that it won't work. he is very knowledgeable in the teardrop and camper building industry.
Might help ya or it might hurt ya (he-he-he)....mention that I recommended you....Ross from the Tear Jerkers. I use to buy a lot of parts from him and still do, from time to time.

Thanks again Ross. I emailed Frank (and mentioned you) and he shot a reply right back and asked for a picture. Maybe he can come up with a good solution. From the web site looks like a cool place. We love Rt. 66.
