This trip solidified my theory that the desert is the last place to find old hams.

Most of them I looked at were in central Washington. My wife got tired of all of the repeat trips that direction every weekend for months, since it's a good 4-5-6 hour drive for us each way.

The western part of the state gets a lot of rain. The center of the state looks like desert to me. The best camper I ever bought, with very little rot, was near Moab Utah. I think they get 9" rain a year. NC can get three inches within 24 hours.

Try again. I've driven eastern Oregon and eastern Washington quite a bit. Lots of very dry high desert and lots of campers hanging around on the farms out there looks like to me....especially if you stretch it out to the 60's. Saw some pretty cool stuff even driving through Bend recently.
