I'm getting ready to remove the lower side skins from my '57 Cardinal, and I'm curious how the storage compartment doors come out. Other than the eyebrows, I don't see any visible screws on the inside or outside- are they hidden under the seals? Also, I'm looking for another small storage compartment door (need to cover a hole cut in the skin by a PO for a hot water heater). Are there any good sources for salvage parts out there? Thanks!

Yea, the screws should be under the rubber seal. Just hold the door open, look under the gasket and remove the several screws on each edge with your cordless. Along the top the hinge is hooked over the frame and the row of screws there will loosen the door and frame together. At least in my little experience thats how it works.

Roadtripper is correct. Remove the eyebrow and there will be a row of screws in the top flange, then under the rubber as described.
Also, you can remove the door by lifting a small metal flap at the end of the curled hinge. (not too many times!!) The door should slide off to the side.

Thanks- makes sense. Any good sources for salvage parts out there? I need a small storage door assembly to cover a hole a PO cut in the skin.
