Building a shasta on a budget. Curb side wall complete. Luan plywood and reclaimed boards from shipping crates. Total out of pocket cost $38. More to come. flic.kr/p/Xyxnd2

My glass is half full. When you're rebuilding the entire wall the more rot you have is just less demo to do.

The skin looks shiny but rough? Will you be straighten it out or are the pictures optical illusions? Maybe I'm just not looking at the photo correctly.

They were took down to metal with a sander disc on a 4" grinder. They are not perfect and I'm going to do some body work but I just don't want them to lose all the character and look new. I didn't want to sand them that much but some Picasso painted the entire trailer with latex house paint.

The latex wasn't that bad. My pressure washer got most of it off. They put some kind of sealer around the bottom and when I would sand it , it would turn to like a rubber substance. It was a pain to get off. The skins aren't perfect but I'm not looking for perfect. I started with a 60 grit to remove the paint. I'll go back with a 220 grit on a DA or orbital, weld up what holes need to be repaired, spray it with an etching primer and then choose a color. I'm really liking a canvas white that Ten on here has told me about. I don't want a solid gloss white because it looks boring. Good thing is I can reuse the skins so I'm still on budget but I think the 2 windows I need are going to put me over a bit. The rain down here is killing my schedule but I have some j rail and windows to clean and straighten. That's what's fun about this hobby. You are doing something different everyday if you want and I'm glad because I got sick of framing walls.

Links are coming up blank, Asimx.
I'm very concerned on the skin condition now. It appears that they have hail damage as well as ripples. Not sure this a "not perfect" scenario for you or too many dents to deal with...

They are working for me. I'll check in to it later. I tried it on my I pad and that's the best I was getting to work.
