I have been on the hunt for some time and have read so much about vintage campers. We have had our disappointments, but have come across a find. We believe it's a late 60- early 70 Scotty highlander, we came across it 2 miles from our house on a back road we hardly ever travel! We knocked on the front door and a very nice older lady answered and said she would be thrilled if we will take the camper. It is "free". Just saying that makes me laugh. The exterior is intact all windows intact. The interior is a complete redo. It leaks from all aspects of the roof. We are trying to date it and what I can come up with it still has windows in the high part of the roof, it has a brown stove and refrigerator, and it has jealousy windows on the door. No bathroom. I have become so frustrated with trying to post pictures, as Flickr is very difficult. I'm operating only from my iPhone this week as I am camping..... in my not vintage just old "96" holiday rambler motor home. I would love opinions on the Scotty. My other option is a 68 gold star. From reading all the posts here I think I should take them both, ha ha

WONDERFUL! That's how I find my trailers. And YES! Sometimes they are FREE! I got one for free a year ago. A 54 Lakewood. I put new tires on it, greased the bearings and towed her 300 miles to home. Found it while out camping. Congratulations on a great find. Can't wait to see photos of it. Scotties make fine campers. Very unique design and very functional. They are built a little differently but more than a few of them have been done on this forum so you should have no problem getting help.

I'm really excited, but we still have to move it. Hope their are no surprises. The owner says it's been several years since it's been on the road. We're going to pull it out of its spot and take a good look at it and possibly just get it up on the trailer to go home

Wow, that is awesome!Sounds like a great find, especially for the price 😊 What part of the Country are you in? I've been trying my luck at that approach, driving around the back roads. I'm in SW PA and everyone around here must think there is gold inside the walls of what they sell

And there is no gold on the campers I've been looking at, mostly mouse poop and mildew, oh yeah and rot!

Hey, not to shabby, especially for the price! Looks similar to the one I was hoping to look at tomorrow , until AAA told me to steer clear of anything without a title
