I just bought a 57 Oasis from a dealer (RV) and I went to register it yesterday and the DMV said I needed the title. I called the dealer and spoke with the title clerk there. She said it was lost and they were getting a new one. It would take 4-6 weeks. Does this sound right??? I was told by the dmv I can register the trailer for 60 days until I get the title but I'm worried I may never get a title. Anyone ever get a new title when the original was lost.Thanks.

What state are you in? Every state deals with it differently. Filing for lost title is not unusual, and I know at least here, in California, can take a while. They can usually transfer it into your name at the same time as filing for lost title.

We bought the trailer in Oregon but we live in Washington, on the boarder of both states.
