I'm putting my boxes together, as I've had to basically rebuild every bit of cabinetry to get rid of mouse smell, old paint, and rotted wood. I understand that they are where they are, and the dimensions they are to act as supports when the goucho bed is pulled out. But when it's not pulled out, these seem like wasted space to me. is there a reason one couldn't make them with a removable top, or a fold down front, for extra storage? I'm thinking for stashing valuables while out of the camper, or TV remote it one has a TV, or any number of little things that would just be clutter if they were left out.

Good idea, I have also been thinking about where to store my purse while camping. My only thought was to put a magnet toddler cabinet lock on the little weird cabinet under the ice box/fridge. My thought was that people would think its a false door or something. But your idea is probably better.
