How important is it that the title has the correct year on it? I'm certain mine does not - but I don't really know the correct year. Assuming it's a 1968 - but that could be off a year or two. I have the vin but that doesn't help me much as I have no clue, lol. Only date I know is the second owner bought it in 1972 and I bought it from him.

When we got the title for Hamlet ( he came without one, but it was easy), they arbitrarily gave him a birthday of 1985. We tried to argue that he was actually from 1959 or so, but he said it really didn't matter. Well, except to us. It didn't matter when we insured him, so I guess I'm ok with the young designation. He certainly doesn't look nearl 60 years old!

In NC it's easy to shift the year as long as the vin number is correct.
If I were a buyer, I'd want the correct year.

I don't know why the DMV doesn't realize this matters to us? haha. I might try and call them to see what they say.
