I found this trailer just around the corner from my property. I know it's an Aljo and I think it's a 58... The old gentleman who owns it has been here his whole life and used to work in the now closed Anaconda mine down the road. Very huge open pit copper mine. More on that in another post later. After talking to the old gent for a while he decided it would be a good idea to sell me the trailer for $300. Sunday I will go over and take the wheels off and Monday I will put new tires on them and go back over and pick up the trailer. It's a bill of sale only as they no longer have a pink slip but I think it will be easy to get a Nevada title for it. We'll see and I will keep you posted. I'll post more photos when I get it home...

That didn't take long. Careful or you'll soon have your lot filled with them, or is that the plan?

I know in Michigan it's about 150 bucks to jump through the hoops on getting a title with a bos only. Had to run a vin check with parking enforcement and when that cleared I had to get a surety bond. It's a process.

It's a process. I'm about to find out how it works in NV. I've done it in CA a few times and it's not all that hard. Just time consuming and costs some money...

Is it an Aljoa or Aloha? I thought they quit using the Aljoa name after 1955...
Congrats on your find anyway!

Nice find mobiltech. Would it be possible for the old guy to put in for a lost title, then sign it over to you after He receives the title ?

<-----Mine geek who also owns an Aljo! (1975)
I've followed the Empire-Nevada Mine (Anaconda) for a while. I spent some time at the Robinson Mine (Ruth, NV) last summer while at the National Speleological Society Conference in Ely. Did some garnet scrounging and photographed bats.
Your little Aljp is pretty sweet . Should be a fun project.

Because this trailer was abandoned by the grand daughter's boyfriend 3 years ago she will have to file abandonment papers for it first and then file for a title. I'm told by the Nevada Hwy Patrol that it's not hard to do. Just time consuming. Stay tuned...

I'm getting a VIN inspection from the local sheriffs department this morning. He's meeting us over at the property where the trailer is sitting. I'm hoping he will come by and do an inspection on my 54 Jewel afterwards. It's just around the corner... Fingers crossed.
