Found the original asbestos blanket under the stove and am wondering what my options are. I'd love to replace it with something just to get it out of the camper and am hoping there is a good option. Let me know!

Mine had fibreglass insulation. I don't know if that is normal though. (I'm in Canada, and my trailer is a bit odd compared to most USA trailers).

If the asbestos blanket is in good condition and does not need to be removed, just leave it. As long as it is not disturbed it will not release any of its particles. If it does need to be removed then, wear a dust mask. There are non asbestos welding blankets out there that are fairly thick, might be You could get one of those for a replacement, if a fire retardant material is needed.

I say keep it too. Cover with a piece of aluminum and that will keep it at bay.
