YUP, I tried being a land lord once. Just a small house and a peice of land. alwaays there was something, even though the house was completely gutted, rewired, insulated, sheetrocked and all the improvements. I learned then that being a land lord takes a lot of time, patience and money. all said and done, I figure I broke even on the deal when I sold. I had it insulated so well that the highest heating and electric bill in the dead of winter was just over 50 dollars.

I'm fastenated by old run down resorts, resort taverns, and I guess taverns in the boonies . I spent a bunch of weekends in little summer camping resorts as a kid. It's the history, and unpretentiousness that is attractive.... all the stuff you can find in an old well used trailer .....

Update to the resort clean out lead! After a week of silence, He says this coming Monday-Tuesday is his target to move the trailer . It was supposed to be another Forester, now he says it's not. Told him I'm still interested as long as it's old. He said its definately old. The dream is still alive! .. and maybe a little more interesting.

I can say as a guy who now rubber-necks every time he's driving around the central Minnesota resort region, there are old trailers everywhere. I am not an expert, so I don't know if the wrecks are worth saving or not, but there are a lot of them lying around on lake lots and in back fields. I'm sure it's the same way all over the country. They're out there, sinking into the ground, somewhere.

WOO HOO! My resort Trailer mover contact guy called me back today. I gave up on him. I called a few times a few weeks apart and was always told he is a few days out on getting the trailer out and on his land. He told me The trailer is a "small silver one" One flat tire. water damage. All of the appliances and interior cabinets are there. He told me he's just too busy to get to it and I can go get it. He sincerely was concerned that it would end up in the hands of a scrapper. I called the resort and spoke to a nice old lady and I'm clear to go get it. Heading up tomorrow. I will dream big dreams tonight about what brand it is ... definitely not a Forester.... Im bringing my rescue bucket, magnetic tail lights, and two tires on rims and hope I get lucky. Did I mention the price went down to free? He was getting it for free and moving it. I don't think I can walk away from free, regardless of condition...

I will get pics . I will try and stay calm enough. I'm usually in go mode trying to figure how much risk mitigation to do ( from greasing bearings to adding extra bracing if walls are really rotted) while balancing the desire to get the new baby home 🏡!

Im Back home with pictures and a story. Well its not silver. and not all that old. Originally when I looked at the 62 forester, he told me he had another one just like it and this is it! . Im learning that if your not a trailer nut, they all look the same! Its a 1974 Mobil traveler. It has the stripe of a 1974 anyway and the frame was too rusty to get a VIN# without a struggle. I think its 17' and at least 7 ft wide. IMG_7368 by Campurist, on Flickr It has two flat tires and a fresh Robins nest IMG_7366 by Campurist, on Flickr missing a few windows IMG_7365 by Campurist, on Flickr When trailer makers made the switch to vinyl covered wood, That marked the end of the classic trailers IMG_7363 by Campurist, on Flickr stepping in, you are greated with a bathroom sink, and a wet bath IMG_7362 by Campurist, on Flickr The dinette and its mouse nest cushions IMG_7359 by Campurist, on Flickr whats left of the back gaucho IMG_7364 by Campurist, on Flickr My first footsteps into the trailer were like entering a bouncy castle. The marshmallow floors flexed so much , I thought I was going to fall though. Lucky the harvest gold vinyl floor didn't tear. The cat pee smell was pretty intense, and I did not stay long.

That will make for a nice trailer, once You emove all the vinyl stuff, build new floor, walls and etc. Make it any shape You would like, even a canned ham. title it as a home made camper/trailer. At least that is what I would do with it. Bad thing about that vinyl wood stuff is they went to particle board material instead of a good solid wood. I might be wrong on this trailer but that is what all the mobile homes of that era did. A good bargain regardless of its condition, I think.

Not what you were expecting, I'm sure. It's not the mid 50s ham I was daydreaming about.
"I'm Back home with pictures and a story."
So you didn't take the camper?
