Wondering if anyone has had this issue and what an easy solution would be. Poles just aren't tall enough to give enough clearance. Toying with the idea of mounting an arm of somekind just about the door that can swing out when I put the awning up- should keep the door from rubbing if it's about 2 feet long. But I'm hoping there is an easier solution!

You can buy a little wheel that attaches to the door for this exact purpose. It's called an Awning Roller. Works great.

You can make an arched awning like a dome tent. See previous postings. We had that same problem and solved it that way. Bonus is no more rain sagging.
