Hi Ruderunner,
I too was in a search pattern for months wondering if I would ever find THE one.
I trolled through Craigslist and went out to see some and almost jumped on a vintage teardrop that had been sitting in the desert for years. It was a cool model and in,my price range, but decided to pass.
I believe that finding your first vintage trailer is like in Harry Potter where the wand finds you. It just happens and it feels right. I opened up CL one night and there was a poor picture of 57 Westerner sitting in some weeds. I swear it talked to me. I felt like the Trailer Whisperer. I knew that this was the one. Persistance paid off after weeks of unanswered emails that I had sent- the ad had remained up. Finally, I got a response. I drove over 200 miles to look at and then bought it!
It was mine!
Yah, okay, so I sound like a nut saying that the trailer talked to me, but regardless, I am a happy camper,LOL.

Hi Rod, I told you it would happen. You really have a bad case of the 'Vintage Trailer Virus". Talking trailers? You've really got it bad. LOL. We will be out your way in October and if time permits, will try to stop by for a quick visit. Not pulling a trailer this time, but would love to see yours. I reduced the herd to four projects from nine in hopes of recovering from "VTV", but progress has been slow. I may be suffering a relapse as yesterday I was considering the purchase of a Shasta toaster model. That lasted for about 4 hours, and now today the thought has returned. Hope I can overcome the temptation. LOL Gary
