Mine still has the tank, but I'm pretty sure I won't be using it for drinkable water anyway. I was wondering if one of those 2-gallon water jugs would fit - does the spigot fit through the cabinet opening? I haven't tried this by the way.

Mine are metal and in fair shape. I wouldn't want to drink water out of ANY tank, brand new or not... Here's Pix:

You could always find a company to custom-fit a new plastic tank to the space in the cupboard. The only hard part then would be sourcing the spigot...depending of course on how true you wanted to stay to the original.

I'm not a hard core restorer but like the idea of having the water tank in the cabinet,If I can find a original I will modify it internally with a liner to use it for potable water. I like the basic ideas of keeping the vintage look and feel but I also like to modify things to improve there usefulness, kinda like my hot rods,I like the original look but want better performance. If any of you decide to remove the original tank I am interested in purchasing it. Danny

VTS has different size blank tanks and you can have them put holes anywhere you want with or without fittings. Or just order the blank and do it yourself.

Thanks Larry, that would work if they have a size close to the original tank. I would appreciate someone taking the measurements of your original tank. Danny
