Welcome!
It looks like a early 60s Shasta Airflyte, but it isn't one. Two things jump out, the framing is too heavy for a Shasta and the front window is different. I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will chime in.

I was wondering if vintagebruce might have any idea. I searched pictures of Shasta's from 1954 - 1961 and none matched. I'm not sure what else to look for.

It looks like an exact clone of the Airflyte layout. It definitely is not a Shasta however, the square dinette windows are a dead giveaway. The rear is almost exact. Everything including the bunk brackets, storage shelf, window layouts, cabinet layouts... Stove, overhead cabinets, gas lamp... Unfortunately, the magazine rack is missing...top right corner. Sure wish that were in place. Could be a huge clue. By the way, love the original tile. Two names come to mind. In the early part through the middle of the 60's, Nomad built a camper that was real close to the Shasta of the time. The other name would be the Zipper, built by a group of former-employees of Shasta in a plant in South Carolina. The floor plans and a lot of the appliances and utilities were pretty exact in the Zipper to the Shasta as well. Just guesses, but without more to go on, it is impossible to tell for sure. Nice find.

I've seen a Nomad of a similar age, and it had the same disastrous dinette windows... This one may be slightly newer or a Zipper as mentioned.

Wow you all rock. Thank you so much for all of the insight. I had very similar thoughts on the Shasta/not a Shasta identifiers. The front window has always been the main kicker that has steered me from thinking Shasta. I have watched a lot of the videos on mobiletecs site and always had the sneaking suspicion it wasn't a Shasta, what is it... so I'll look at Zippers and Nomads now. I found it in Grand Rapids Michigan and pulled it back to Sterling Hgts. Michigan about three hours away. It was a fun slooow trip.my wife and I have been to all 48 of the contiguous United States, but we tent camped. This is our first camper and we are rebuilding it to take the family back to the places we loved. Thanks again for all of your help.

I'm thinking zipper, built in Clinton, SC by former Shasta employees. Only made for 2 or 3 years from what I've heard. There was one for sale just north of me a few months ago.

^^^unfortunately the tile was only pretty like that under the benches, the previous owner put down some gross felt square carpet that ruined it. I would love any input you have and come spring if you plan any trips near by let me know so we can meet up and test my new baby out.

Daniel did you try mineral spirits or goof off to remove the adhesive from the carpet squares??? It really would be a shame to lose that original floor because of some adhesive. I don't know if mobiltec has run into that problem but you could check out his videos at cannedhamtrailers.com and see what he has. My floor like that was ruined by the door and the kitchen so there was no saving it which really bummed me out.

There was rot under it and I just replaced the whole floor. Sorry to bum you and others out. Initially I was thinking of trying to salvage then decided to modernize and it so the kids will fit better and it will be better for bad weather indoor time. I have 4 kids right now and the only way to make the all fit is to adjust the inside. I'll keep the posts coming with updates of the inside as it comes together. If this turns out well, I may look for another one that will remain vintage inside and out.

Well it was a long shot about the floor but I had to try. I will caution you about changing the inside of the trailer too much. You really need to leave the cabinets, closets and other interior items in place because they provide the structural integrity of the trailer. Unlike a house that is held up by the walls which are held up by the foundation, the cabinets and closets in a trailer are what are supporting the walls, without them the trailer will fall apart. This thread shows a good example of what I'm talking about: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/173/worst-experience?page=1&scrollTo=913The member in this thread started making repairs from the inside and removed cabinets and stuff, then decided to do it the right way, but you can see what happens: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/6784/1970-lark?page=4I just want you and your family to be safe in the trailer for as long as possible.

I'm still trying to figure out what this is. It does not have the rounded corner cabinets like the Nomad from the Airflyte era, and it does not seem to compare with any Zippers I can find photos of, plus in this model if it was a Zipper or a Nomad and it was fairly original, I would expect to see a magazine rack with either the Nomad N or the Zipper Z cut-out like the Shasta mag rack with it's cutout S. It has me stumped right now but I am still researching. I'm looking for brands with the table leg-support like in the photo.

Eureka! I have found it, it is a 1958 or 59 Phoenix, made in Nappanee, Indiana! They have the similar look of a Shasta but not the same build. The wheel wells and low rear end kept me looking and I finally found one just like it on an old eBay post. There is VERY little information about them, but I have one. Ok now I can finish th build and begin total enjoyment, thank you for your help I will post new pictures soon, maybe with snow on the ground.

Great feeling to find out what kind of trailer you have. Good job! It took me 16 years to figure out my "Estra" is an Easy Traveler. Had the same tiles as yours. I lost mine too. The closest match I can find is a Marmoleum tile named Compressed Time.
