I've pulled this probably 60 miles or better down the road at highway speeds and have actually camped in it one weekend and things seem solid.. I guess my biggest hurdle is the title because I don't know if the previous owner wants to bother with filing for a lost title for me.. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Just get a bill of sale from them showing that it was a gift and go register it.

Are you certain that's all you have to do in the state of Wisconsin?

If your family is friends with the previous owner, why can't they ask the PO to meet you at a convenient DMV where s/he can show ID and explain s/he lost the Title and is giving the camper to you and request a Duplicate Title s/he can sign over to you, or request a new Title be issued directly to you? I also agree with msgoerhing. If it is not the camper you really want, don't put anything into it, except elbow grease to clean it up, and sell it. Since it was free, any sales money will be total profit. Use that toward the vintage camper you really want. Whatever money you spend to clean it up may not be returned in a final sales price. Here is a thread to a 1965 Kencraft that sold not too long ago on my friend Kelle's web site. Compare this one to yours and notice the sale price. Good Luck. littlevintagetrailer.com/2016/05/1965-kencraft-trailer-for-sale/

The family friend does not live in the area and I don't believe wants to bother with messing with a title just wanted it gone from where it was sitting

If you take the vin down to the DMV they will tell you what you need to do and give you all the forms. At least that's what I do with a questionable title problem here in CA.

Could anyone tell me where the best place would be to sell my trailer? I live in a small town in Wisconsin and there just isn't a market for it here

RV Trader might get you good exposure, or you could always go the eBay route...Good Luck. I'm not sure why you do not think Wisconsin isn't a good market. Any small town usually has a big(ger) buyer market town within a 3 hour drive. Many vintage camper buyers will drive 3 hours to see a camper they find interesting. Find that larger metropolitan market and advertise in their pulp weekly "trader" like a Penny Pincher. Fork over the extra dollar or two to have an ad with a decent photo. Sometimes it just takes patience and some elbow grease to clean your camper up as best you can to make a decent first impression.

This is how I present an ad. This trailer sold for $2500 in 4 hours after posting last week. I post an ad on Craigs list with 24 GOOD photos and a short description with an added link to the web page I made. Here is that link. www.cannedhamtrailers.com/54lakewood.htmIf you can't make a web page just post the photos and if you know how to post a you tube video, the video walk through tour put's the buyer IN the trailer like they were standing right there. When the buyer calls they are pretty much sold already. Just post the video link on the Craig's List ad along with the photos. Make sure to be honest and show all the bad stuff along with the good stuff. People love that because they know they are dealing with an honest person. Good luck.
