Hi Friends,
[Rant]I am dissatisfied with Photobucket right now. I have a lot of galleries currently with them including all my trailer restoration photos.
While they offer free galleries for photo albums, of late, they have started using annoying pop up ads of rather disgusting nature IMHO. I really find the ads distracting as well as annoying, and they clog up posting to my galleries. Not to mention, annoying spam that frequently flies into my inbox.
Yes, I could pay their annual fee and dismiss the pop up ads, but there are other gallery services on the web that don't have these ads.
I will take my photos elsewhere. I encourage you to look elsewhere as well.
[Rant over]
Cheers,
Rod

I agree , plus I have a hard time navigating to post pics, and is the main reason I usually don't post pics here

I never quite understood why people promote photobucket here...it's always been a slow, awkward experience for me and is completely unusable on mobile. I prefer to keep a blog where I can control and curate the photos, text and comments (mostly my wife's). If I want to post the photos here, I can link to the blogger photo which I control and has no ad networks that can inject malware or pornography. It's really no more difficult to create a blog than it is to dump photos to photobucket. For quick questions and photos I don't really care about, I'll post here using the Tapatalk mobile forum app that lets you link a photo and they host it on their servers for free.

I always suggest photobucket because we have a tutorial. I agree it's clumsy, but it works. They are getting way too aggressive with the ads.

I use Ad Blocker plus and haven't seen an ad in years... I prefer not to use ad blockers and just visit sites without abusive ad networks. Someone has to pay for this after all.

It was actually Photobucket that caused me to finally get Ad Blocker. The ads were so annoying and most were videos. Even if you were on another tab, the audio continues on and on...

I have always used Flickr. Our internet is more like snailnet and I have never been able to use Photobucket successfully.

I use Google photos to backup everything I do on my camera, and on my phone automatically when I'm on Wi-Fi. But, it doesn't play real well with a lot of the forums that I frequent, so I do use Flickr for that.

Ads are the price you pay for "free" use. Once you pay, the pop-up ads go away.

Having ads on the page you're using is one thing. Having another window open behind your browser every time you click on something is another. Especially when there is audio and no controls to silence or pause it. And especially when, after buying a fridge from Overstock for example, I get ads for fridges on every other page I visit. Not only is it stupid of them considering I already bought a damned fridge, I don't like, nor will I cooperate with, their collective collusion. It's AdBlock for me. But I never have any trouble with photobucket, specifically.

It's even worse today! I had to go thru THREE episodes of frozen ad pages just to link to my pictures. Adblocker isn't working at the moment.
I'm not against ads, as long as they are not intrusive. Photobucket is.
