Thanks for the replies Brian and Larry. We too have been on a hiatus. Time to get back to business. We are just a little concerned about putting it up and then denting it while doing dishes, etc. Better thought, just don't do dishes

We are just a little concerned about putting it up and then denting it while doing dishes, etc. Better thought, just don't do dishes This is the first time I have made my own quilted aluminum for a back splash. All other trailers I have used quilted stainless steel. But it's hard to cut and very expensive. 4x4 foot sheet is $100 so don't make a mistake. But it will last forever and you won't dent it doing dishes. The material I used above is .024 inches thick.

I wouldn't think dents would be much of a problem considering most people don't bang things into the back splash. Oxidation might be a consideration unless it is kept sealed.

Yes I would think any good alum wheel polish would work. Also if it did lose it's shine the polish you buy at truck stops to clean up and shine their aluminum fuel tanks should restore it to like new condition.
