I take that back. I found something and it looks like it was built in South Carolina from the research I've done? I see S4173 on the trailer.

$200 is as close to free as you can get. Congratulations. I would start with the title. If it goes smoothly, then I'd put money into it. In the meantime... "...it's time to start pulling skin. Front and rear first. Start there. See what's under there." I really like that part of the job. As Dan said, cannedhamtrailers.com for videos, vikx for the book and this forum with questions. -- Go to this link and provide Ross your vin number. He can provide you info on your camper. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/22/shasta-vin-model-database-include?page=1 Read more: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/6954/shasta-spotted-good-deal#ixzz4D5VipXhA

I had a 1969 Compact at one time, which was in similar condition. I actually sold it to help pay for the 16SC project. Just to help give you a little insight, here are some photos. s1178.photobucket.com/user/crw2620/library/1969%20Shasta%20Compact?sort=2&page=1Start slowly. Don't get in a rush to start tearing things out and "gutting". It is awful easy to get carried away and lose structural integrity, a well s dimensions and placements. When you do start to dismantle, save everything. There is nothing like being able to reference the original parts hands-on.
