Little ole me & my dad with his 70 Mesa. Assuming mom took the photo. Most of the stuff in the photo is probably still at his house. Except for that red cooler was a huge old Igloo. It was in the trunk of a car that got stolen in the 90s I had to search for a while to find the same strings of blowmold lights they had. I was always extremely fond of those lights.

great picture! and I'm sure great memories. doesn't look like the "bathroom" has much privacy, though! I don't remember what we did with that. I have vague memories that they just stuck it in the trailer when they wanted to use it during the day and brought it in at night. Far too many years ago to recall exactly. This was their 2nd trailer, they started with a tent trailer, and then found this Apache. They rebuilt a lot of the interior and upgrade some things. I remember the smell of the canvas. After this one though they jumped into travel trailers (their latest/current camper is a 30ft bumper pull).

There's no doubt where you get your passion from. Totally opposite here. Never went on a camping trip with my family. Although in my high school years, they bought an old 50's camper and put it on our vacant lot next to our house and rented it out. I loved that camper. I'd go hang out in it for hours at a time when no one was living in it.

I'd go hang out in it for hours at a time when no one was living in it. No doubt at all. Very much grew up outdoors, lots of camping. I was in scouts from 6-adult and of course was always doing some kind of camping, back country hiking etc. Hoping to give our kids the same opportunities and chances. Our oldest used to scream as an infant but if you walked out on the back porch with him and he could see the sky and be outdoors he usually calmed down. Safe to say he will enjoy camping growing up. He just turned 2 last month so things are finally starting to click with him. I've been working on the Apache in the garage and he comes out with mom and has to point at the beds and tell us where everyone is sleeping (in which bed). Hope 30 something years from now he is sharing the same memories with people.
