Hi Fishfarm! Dude, you are going to love your journey! I think it's a Mercury. The Mercury has that same canned ham shape as a Westerner, but they used the jalousies. Just a guess. Might be wrong, but do a search on them. Cheers, Rod

I'm thinking Rod might be right on this one. Open this thread. The first camper as you scroll down is a Mercury. It has a little different wheel well cutout, but it sure has most of your camper's characteristics, including the suicide door. annalenaland.com/2009/09/27/tin-can-tourist-rally-part-one/

Hi Friends, When I originally saw this post, I did a quick search on Mercury trailers and found one just like Bruce posted above. The biggest difference is the front side jalousie windows when compared to Fishfarm's trailer. Those are huge, but look below at this one. This came in on one of our threads a little while ago. This is a 57 Merc. Here is the full thread: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/2921/mercury-canned-chopped-chanelled-bagged?page=1 While it's got the front Hehr side windows identical to my 57 Westerner, Andy, the paint stripe might be a giveaway that Fishfarm's trailer might be a Merc. Here is Fishfarm's diamond in the rough, once again for easy comparison: Maybe the Jalousies came in in 1958+. Hmmmmm.... Cheers, Rod

Here's a 58 Merc that one of my viewers restored. That paint scheme looks like a duplicate... I think you guys nailed it. kurtsmercury.wordpress.com/

Hi Ten;
Should have a winch but may not do this to often. Hand winch worked but took some time. Just fit between the fenders I mean just 1/2" each side.
Did some looking for ID. Nothing much but very faint label over front window. All my help had a look and Ca - - - - er or Ca - - - ier maybe Cavalier. Some thought maybe two diamond shapes in the space between the letters we could read. I will be cleaning out and look better for more ID hints. Could Merc"s been sold under other names. No ice box door so will be looking for that. Much rotten wood so it will be a complete redo.

The VIN will be on the tongue some where. Usually top on the curb side midway between the front of the trailer and the hitch. Run a search on Mercury trailers. I would say yours might be a 56 or 57?
