1TC, Whats good about your windows is that they are the lesser seen Aluminum version of a window that is more often seen in steel. At this point the wiper like seals on the edge are not as effective as they once were. Also the glass seal when bad can allow water to creep under the glass to the other side on the bottom rail. New seals are available for those windows.
As far as the color goes,I have no specific knowledge of Alma ,but the color is likely white that has turned. Probably was just the base color with graphics on it much like the above ad. They had good primer back then, Are we sure that trailer is Aluminum ?? at least in the pic of the emblem it looks like steel sneaking through.. I've been scraping paint off a steel trailer for a couple weeks now,so maybe I'm just tripp'n.
On the Pics, there is a great photo tutorial about somewhere on the site if you need further help, but I think you need to open the pic on PB then click on the HTML code off to the right. It will flash yellow when copied, then you can paste it here.Be sure to hit enter after pasting the pic,so the new one will have its own space..

FYI: if your getting tech help from me you're in trouble.Maybe someone can help find the answer between the too small pics and the too big ones..
On the vin,we're hoping for something like this of a 1950 32 footer. This was not an Alma though.. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/IMAG1300.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMAG1300.jpg"/></a>
Cue the horror music: <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/IMAG1301.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMAG1301.jpg"/></a>
Here's a steel one in the raw that was well preserved with paint and silicon dare I use that word in a positive light around here. Actually my favorite windows.. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/IMAG3599.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMAG3599.jpg"/></a>

I purchased the Alma a week or so ago... Trying to get the Big Unit home (100 miles). Tires were rotted so tried to get by with one new one on each side... big project as they are split rims. 7:00 15. six hole... (any one know of used common rims that would fit so I can eliminate the split rim?)
Made it 10 miles with my one new tire on each side plan.... will go back tomorrow with Large roll back car carrier for 3rd try... part of the experience of dragging my $100 find home.
closer inspection today indicate Yes... aluminum siding...pic posted today shows original white/beige with what I think is original black accent... (at first I though the black was smeared on by grandkids of PO) looks like similar pattern to post card in a previous post.
the roof seems quite solid resulting in a not too bad ceiling... looks like all the window leaked so lower paneling all needs to be replaced. the bathroom is in nice original condition. all the cabinets including hardware survived lots of years of sitting in the MN woods.
thanks for listening....

Very cool! Thanks for sharing those! Your layout is the opposite of ours -- our sink is on the curb side. Is that the stove in the corner or is without one?

Any 6 lug trailer wheel from the 60',70' 80's should work provided it has a large enough center hole, which in your case may be 3-7/8" You may also have a locator pin,but those can be removed if need be.. Some p/u truck wheels may work in an emergency, but don't have the proper shear strength. back then 6 lugs had a universal pattern.
I spent about 3 hours the other night (bored and determined) using several search word combos and search engines and the only thing I was able to determine was there is a lot of inconsistency in terms of stated years matching other like stated years. There does seem to be a couple body styles within any given year. I found no other with your emblem, but did find at least 3 others. Flat oval plate, cast oval badge, and individual letters.. The windows were all over the place too.. Probably there were options..
The only perfect match I found among them was a 1952 New to the Wallace family, that matched perfectly to the 52 ad from Brian.
I think it can not be earlier then 49 or later then 55,but still am feeling 50+-1
Also learned the roofs were heliarched (sp?) hence your lack of roof leaks.

thanks trasher for your post... what is "1952 New to the Wallace family" ? can I find it on the net?
Well I got the old Alma "closer to home" yesterday... but not all the way.
thought my solution to the blown tires problem would be hiring a Large rollback car carrier...getting it loaded went OK as we were able to back up to a hill see pic (plus use the roll back feature on the truck bed).... but because the Alma is so long and the wheels are in center of the trailer it takes a loading dock or bank to back into for unloading... once on the truck I knew my home property was to flat for us to unload with rollback feature only. so had to go with plan B...find a hill and spot to park and go back to my original thought of getting 2 more new tires. I am 10 miles from home and will be working on the new tire issue next.. whew...

1TC,
You might want to contact Dan at VintageCampers.com. When he got mine a couple of the wheels were beyond use, but he had some old wheels he supplied to replace them. Perhaps he has a few more?

Its a chore to get them home sometimes.. If your only ten miles from home and in the country where your not going to endanger anyone, you can take various blocks of wood like short 2x4 and 4x4's jack up the axle with bad tires, then place the blocks between the pivot and the frame. This will hold the axle up high when you remove the jack.. take it slow..
As for the picture. I just searched again " 1952 Alma trailer wallace" though its pic didn't show up, one that I recognized did. A little guy on a bike w/dog in front yard B/W follow it to the page with trailer. Its someones family history page,so I didn't think it appropriate to copy and post it here..

I'm with the others that this is an early 50's unit. My guess 1950 +-1 just based on a combination of parts I'm seeing. Remove the LP tank holder and strip the paint off the curb side frame rail using stripper or a wire wheel. The stamped #'s may be faint and lost by a grinder. If found they may reveal the exact year. Using the 52 ad that bp posted. that seems a little sportier in the roof line and rear and has less body seems (granted its only an illustration) also shows and oval emblem. So guessing the script emblem predated the flat tag, that makes me feel pre 52 also. The one Bruce posted as a 55 is suspect as I think he feels as well. Think its just mis-dated.. Just FYI: Your windows are Marvel (lucky for you the aluminum version as that looks like a moist place). The tail lights are Bargman #2 with new lenses available here: www.vintagecampers.com/viewpart.php?partID=2037 Let us know what you find.. I am posting this here instead of the For Sale section, because I think anyone reading this thread may have an interest in an Alma, plus there is an illustration/photo or two that definitely shows how this one was "emblemed". Unfortunately I guess the seller is not sure of the year. houston.craigslist.org/rvs/5374737215.html

Nice find Bruce, I'd move that to my place in a minute if not so far away. Looks like the 54 That Brian posted with the brake pattern in the skin. Has the individual letters I mentioned seeing as well, and yet another badge I had not yet seen, The Golden Princess one. Wonder if that marks a particular event ? might be able to place it in time with that.. HMMM
Fit for a Golden Princess may mark a particular event in the company's history. Ie: one was given to ?? Or nothing more then marketing toward the ladies ?? Off a searchin' I go

1TC, I don't have any evidence to support this, but I THINK that the C models were travel models while the G models were park models. I say this only because the G models that I've seen have been up around 40 feet. B
