Pull the trigger! You deserve it. Wish I had one too, my work area is too small.

Trigger is being pulled soon. If you need a threshold I can make one for you if you can wait a bit. If not maybe Mountainsounds could make one for you as they have the bender now. I have to go all the way to Hemet to do any metal work at this point and I need another check on a trailer before I get mine.

Lets all go together and buy a 12 footer and then share it. Better yet, Larry, send it to me when you're finished and I'll pay shipping both ways... only need it for a few days. Just looked up the weight/shipping, so, uh, never mind.

I made mine with the vise, wood block and rubber mallet. On small areas like below it works fine but for an entire door jam I have my doubts. I would love the tool above but my little work area is overflowing.

I'd be happy to make one for you UniversalExports. One catch: you have to first donate to Mobiltec's "I need a bender bad" fund! PM me and we will work out the details.

Oh you got your own account now Bruce. Good job. I never really knew who I was talking to before. You or your better half.
BTW, if your threshold got there undamaged then use the same type of packaging I did. That's how your metal comes from HVS and is what gave me the idea. Triangle shaped packaging is hard for even the post office to screw up.

You were always talking to my better half! I take no credit (she guilted me into getting my own account so here I am).

A brake is nice to have but not at that price. I bought plans on Ebay, how to build a break, roller and sand blaster. I built 3 brakes each one larger than the first, 2 foot long, 4 foot long, and 7 foot long. I built a 2 foot long roller. I built a sand blaster too. I bought metal at the local metal supply company 95% cheaper than Lowes and Home Depot. Cut the metal pieces by hand with a hacksaw and welded them together. www.ebay.com/itm/171884088563?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

Gary350 I used to have several homemade brakes that worked well but now I do much of my metal breaking on a twenty ton hydraulic press as it takes up a lot less space. I do still have a 36' and an 8 foot brake but don't use them much in fact a guy wants to buy the 8 foot one and I think it will be history shortly.

From our experience, the HF brake works great, making thresholds and metal glazing strips for the hehr clearview window. It's all we need for this hobby, and then some. And now we need to buy another trailer to justify the purchase, oh darn!
