Just curious if anyone here was into license plate toppers for their trailers? Now that I have my new plate it seems to be my new focus! I didnt even think about the 47 License plates being a totally different shape than most plates meaning a frame needs to be kinda special which means more costly. And then of course a topper or two is in order so Im trying to get ideas of what I would like for it.
Who has them on their trailers and what are they of?
Ebay has quite a collection, some old and unique as well as new ones made to look old.

Hey MT, Yes, like SusieQ and Vikx have stated, it's not something you usually see on the backs of trailers. I saw this post last night, and I found myself intrigued. Seems like a fun way to adorn one's trailer at a reasonable cost - for most of them. Certainly enough to search through. Your Ebay link offers up over 1,600 items. You mentioned " And then of course a topper or two is in order..." Does that mean, that people in the hot rod world put two or more of these on their license plates? Cheers, Rod

Who is going to be the first to produce and market one for our vintage trailer crowd?

Cheers, Rod Here is a link to the HAMB HotRod site thet is all about the toppers... Some guys really load their plates up, some not so much. www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/license-plate-toppers-lets-see-em.128757/page-3Personally I think they are a great fit for our little VTT's. Being I sell a lot of my product on the HAMB forum I am obviously a big fan of it. It can be a rough environment for some but on the whole they are very good folks! Here is what I made yesterday which will due until I can find what better fits my personality... LOL Nice thing is they are easily made out of just about anything... And finally the company to contact for custom built one if the VTT wanted to make a group buy? www.obrientruckers.com/ecom/category/236/1/I was kinda of thinking about doing a one off siloute of my trailer and... well you know!

Holy cow - those are cool, MT. I gotta get one for my '53 Chev truck...then one for the camper. I like your idea of the camper profile.

That is kinda different... Do you put your name in that frame? and then does that whole thing go a top of your license plate? Or is that a really thin license plate frame?

I too never knew about toppers, or at least never recognized them for what they are. I only knew about antenna toppers. Seems like there should be a topper that would be a pleasant generic shape with a clear "sleeve" on the top that a person could take a color photo of their camper, size it to slip in the sleeve, and then weather seal. OK, gotta sign off and work on this one...Christmas gift buying season is just around the corner...thanks MT...

So your going to take a photo of the trailer then put it on the actual trailer that the photo is of? I mean why not just stand back and admire the trailer in 3d?
