I live in Surrey, BC, Canada and checked around at the local hardware shops. Windsor Plywood in Langley says they carry it in stock and its $42 for a 4'x8' sheet. I haven't gone in to see what it looks like but nice that they carry it regular stock and not just special order.

I’ve about decided to go full on luan mode. 1/8” birch is like Bigfoot around here. You hear stories of sitings but no real evidence. I’m about ready to give up on the stuff. The stuff I found in Atlanta is 4x8 bendy instead of 8x4. Won’t work. It will crack trying to bend it the wrong direction.

Assuming some personal things get put out of the way, I may order from Boston where they have 1/8 inch birch and have it shipped to North Carolina for $190 extra.

So $30 a sheet plus $200 shipping? When last I checked, it worked out to a total of $1300 for 20 sheets. Crazyland. I’ve been waiting for the price of lumber to come down. this brings me back to a post I made six months ago about lumber. The materials have gotten so expensive, restoring Vintage campers as a hobby doesn’t really make sense right now. Hopefully in a few months it will make sense again. At the moment you restore one to keep not for fun.

My new lumber company... Great prices, great products. Paneling is from Indonesia but it looks good to me. They carry an average of 300 sheets and encourage hand selection. Peterman Lumber. Locations in Fontana, CA. Las Vegas, NV. and Phoenix, AZ. petermanlumber.com/panel/Hi Larry, While this quoted post is almost 6 years ago, have you or anyone else found 1/8" (3mm) Indonesian made Birch recently that you still recommend. I am looking for one sheet and found it a few miles from my place. The guy has 100 sheets for $29 a sheet. I haven't been by to look at it, yet. Hardwood Specialty Products - Chatsworth, CA 91311. For what it's worth, their website claims they are FSC certified - FSC stands for 'Forest Stewardship Council'. FSC certifies forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards. Products made with wood and paper from FSC forests are marked with our 'tick tree' logo. Cheers, Rod

Peterman was the last place I picked up Birch. I have a new place up here in Northern Nevada now but I have not seen the quality yet.
