Just wondering what is the typical size of wheels and tires on small canned hams? We are restoring a 13.5 foot (box) 1963 Friendship Vacationaire, made in Friendship, Wisconsin. Not much info on these campers anywhere. It came with 14" rims and 195/75 radial car tires. I now learned, from this forum, that car tires are not appropriate. I suspect that these wheels are not original and actually may be too big. How much clearance should be in the wheel wells? Thinking of just buying new rims from VTS and moving to 13". Opinions?

Are the ones you have now rubbing any place? if not you don't need to go smaller. You should be able to buy 14' trailer tires if not measure the total height (Diameter) and stay near that size. The larger your tire diameter the slower it rotates creating less wear and heat.
