My wife and I just installed a new roof and J-rails on our 1963 Friendship Vacationaire. We are going to do a roller paint job soon, but are in disagreement about whether to paint the mill finished aluminum J-rails. We have noticed both styles in looking at many pics. Any thoughts on the matter?

You can do whatever is original to that model or just to your preference. It's really up to you. Mine are painted on my 56 Shasta....but I also know people that have left them unpainted. It's easier to leave them unpainted if you wait to install them until after paint (same for the window eyebrows) I have seen some folks paint the eyebrows (drip caps) but most leave them aluminum.

I like the aluminum look so most of mine are mill. We tend to paint them if they were originally...
