Vaguely remember that flexseal guy. I agree, it's really hard to stay at 3K. I don't count, just because...

There are two things things other than the obvious that irk me about floppers. 1. There are the ones who truly think they are doing something good by flipping a trailer disguised with fluff. Some are truly ignorant. They take on the project with no experience and do no research to make it "right." Ignorance is not always bliss, sometimes it's a mess. 2. There are the ones who know exactly what lies beneath and have no conscience and are just bad people making a buck at someone's expense. I would never buy a used airplane, fluff it up and sell it. I know nothing about airplanes. But I know what the consequences would be if I tried. Why are these people so stupid about flipping trailers? Or why are they so greedy and heartless? Rhetorical questions. Susie, I think I have come 180 degrees on this topic. I don't think that we are going to change humans, and their basic need for greed. We are not going to stop the unethical trailer flippers, that are active in this fast growing hobby. It's my opinion, the best direction to take topic is one of buyer education. It's totally the buyers responsibility to understand what they are buying. This not rocket science, everything you need to know about checking out an old trailer is on this site. Educated buyers will put unethical flippers out of business by stopping the sales and profit potential.
You might ask what's "an unethical flipper"? The trailer that I'm currently rebuilding was purchased from a flipper as a fully restored trailer and has a broken frame tongue with "welds broken in several places". It has spray foam shot into the dry rotted wood edging. It has tubes of butyl sealer squirted into every loose wood joint on the undercarriage. It had Bondo wiped into the termite infested lower sill boards, then painted over. The seller not only had full knowledge of the damage, he tried his best to camouflage the damages from the buyer. This is my definition of a unethical flipper. Buyer beware!
