I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, but there are some nifty "marine" berth reading light reproductions on ebay. Granted most on ebay from the following thread are 12V LED, but is that really a bad thing for a reading light? www.ebay.com/bhp/berth-lightI used to go to the Miami Boat Show and browse the used parts vendors and you would be surprised what nice brass lights from old Chrissies and other old wooden boats turn up in some assortment boxes. Don't know current pricing, but you might try boat salvage places/shows/local saltwater Marina/repair yards in a pinch.
