Hello all! My faithful husband and I have been plugging away at the trailer, getting her ready for a fabulous transformation into a sewing studio. My original plan was to make it a towable studio- but with all the trouble it took to get her into the back yard, and the lack of registration in California...shes going to stay where she is unless its a big, long term project. So right at this moment, we are getting rid of the rot, repairing the walls, floors, and just pulled all the windows this afternoon. There is not a single pane of glass left in them, and I'm missing two windows in the back. This weekend my goal is to remove some skins, and see how bad the frame repairs are! Introduction thread post is HERE
As I found her, bulls eye and all. big beautiful pile of messed up windows (I'm going to fix them) old cracked floor out- the back framing was pulled out like that when I bought her. more window pulling. Also the worst bit of damage. We are going to try and pound it out, but may have to replace the panel? And for fun, my surprise late Christmas gift from my sister. I looked everywhere for this ornament, and she secretly found one for me

I'm guessing you will have to replace that front panel. Once you pull the skins, you'll be able to lay it on a table/the ground and do some serious work.

Your King has great potential. Just polishing the windows will take a week but in the end it will be worth the effort. You'll have the coolest sewing studio in town. sewing...cool...I never thought I'd type those two words together.

Too bad the guy wasn't a better shot. Might have had fewer holes to repair...

We got a nice amount of work done over the long weekend ( while still relaxing a tiny bit!) Finally got all the trim off the outside of the trailer, removed the old broken roof vent, and took measurements for new skin and J rail. The roof is in great shape, so we are keeping that and the rear skin original. But both sides are in horrid shape, and have tons of vents that I dont need anymore. (Stove and oven vent, fridge vent, and some nasty damage on one side.) The awning rail came off nice and clean, so I'm going to polish that up and keep it. Another fun bit, was that we figured out to how make a covered work area by hanging the trailers tarp from the fence behind her, to the top of our gazebo! It was nice and shady So now I'm waiting on my estimates from www.hemetvalleyrv.net/ for the J rail and skin, and drooling over the "fantastic fan" on Vintage Trailer supply Next step- pull the skin and start frame repairs! Finally!!

Oh dang you have discovered tarps LOL... I consider myself the Tarp King. I have strung them every way possible. Now I'm buying all my tarps from www.Tarpsonline.com They sell tarps that will last. And the prices are right. Shipping is a bit of an expense but it comes out pretty much the same as what you pay for a piece of crap tarp anywhere else that won't last but 3 months. Tarps are handy for more than just keeping rain off things. They keep bird poop off things and the sun off things. Ever pick up a metal tool that's been laying in the sun for a while? OUCH!.... I love my tarps LOL...
