Across the pass she (or he, not sure yet) came rolling in today and landed in the gravel turnaround in my driveway. Large and in charge, the 1954 King has a new home and anticipating some major TLC next year. Wanted to share with you folks before the BIG ham gets covered for the wet Washington winter. I know that vikx is gonna become my best friend when I finally tear into this baby (grin).

Cool, I've been watching that one. Glad it's found a good home.

Me too. I like this trailer. It's a real canned ham and it's pretty much complete.

I kinda suspected you were going to risk family life and limb on this one. Great body shape. I think it's a worthwhile project. "next year" meaning next month or a year from now? Anxious to see that interior wall, so if you are not in the midst of other stuff, lets see more interior. Very cool.

Thanks guys.. It's gonna be a beast of epic proportions but I'm all in. I'll work feverishly on Dottie the Shasta this winter so we can camp in her next year, but, once she quits bogarting the shop space, the BIG ham will move in for rennovation. I'm more than a bit amazed at the skins on the old King; seemingly, twice as thick as little Dottie. No wonder it lasted 60 years on the east side of the Cascades. Beware, the following is not rated PG and may shock the weak of heart... The BIG ham is not in the best of shape... please turn away if these unsettling pictures disturb you..

Nice, RJ has to be a he, not niece to refer to a lady as The Big Ham.

Oh wow, another King! I have a Sport king, probably very close in age to yours. I took a ton of original things out of mine- the sink, faucet, and a ton of hinges and latches. Do you need any parts for yours?

Do you need any parts for yours? I take it you scrapped your Sport King. I came very close to buying a 1950 King a couple of years ago. Kinda wish I had bought it now but the price was just too high for my standards at the time. They wanted a whopping $500 for it. I offered $300 and was turned down flat. Go figure LOL...

Gutting and re building her! I bought it from a guy who said it had been a kids play house for years and years. Well the little brats broke every window in the place, and years and years of rare SoCal rain storms had wrecked the cabinets inside. I'm going to re build them, but totally different layout. It had a million tiny weird cabinets I'm not putting back in. PS- I'm a big fan of your videos Mobiltec! You've given me the courage to do a lot of work on the trailer myself

Gotta say, so far as not for the faint of heart, I have seen a lot LOT worse, and that gal is prime real estate for some serious renovatin'. It will be a big project with really big rewards. Color me jealous.

Wrapped up like prime rib roast for winter. A big roast requires a rather large tarp and a plethora of bungies
