Just introduced myself in the newbie forum. I just bought a 1950's? Silver Queen built by H. B. McGinnis of Peterboro Ontario. All varnished plywood with an actual old school icebox. It's in amazing original shape. I can send pics if you like. Thanks! Hello neilfreeb, I would love to see pictures of your Silver Queen :-) I want to varnish the plywood cupboards! They were painted blue at some point but I have stripped them down. Looking forward to seeing your trailer, what size trailer do you have? Wondering where your located? |

If I owned one of the few known early McGuiness trailers, I would take the time to contact a number of the retirement homes in Peterborough and ask the manager/esse to PLEASE post a request for anyone who has knowledge of the H.B. McGuiness trailer company to contact me so that I can begin to compile some historical information about the Company...it just might work, but time is running out for survivors to be found and allowed to reminisce. If I could get an e-mail address, I would send a couple of good photos from the ones on this thread, including the close-up of the H.B. McGuiness emblem...might jolt a memory or three. Hi All, just joined the forum and looking for any new info ...... We just acquired an HB Mcginness trailer here in Alberta Canada. It was advertised as a 1948 but we've since found some paperwork inside that seems to date it as a 1953 Mcginness Silver Line. It's very original and the skin is in good shape however it doesn't have a title so am currently in search of the serial number on the unit.Are they usually on the hitch/ tongue area or should I be looking elsewhere? Anyone know of any archives for info on these trailers ? And are they quite rare ?? Thanks!

I have a 53 McGinness Silver Duke My serial number was on the right side of the tongue.
Small vin # SD***. only 5 digits
