Oh, and Corvette, if I could do one thing differently with mine, I would have sacrificed a little storage space and made the bathroom bigger. A shower, full-size toilet, and sink in a room not much larger than a phone booth is a bit cramped. Still I never complain at 4am...

Gary, I think the 'wet' bath in our 16' White Water Retro is even smaller than yours! Thank you for sharing the before and after weight of your Corvette. I really would have liked to take on the challenge of rebuilding one of those vintage trailers - BUT - having had 15 levels of my spine fused three years ago took that off the table. So we purchased the Retro last May and I have been making mods on it ever since. Fantastic Fan install, rebuilt all the drawers, installed a riser under the toilet, installed aluminum drip caps over all the windows, added a heavy duty spare tire bracket to the rear bumper and a 6" PVC tube on the bumper to store our sewer hose. Also added a couple lights and converted all the rest of the lights to LEDs. Last night we measured for new brightly colored material for curtains that Linda is going to sew up. Oh, we are also having a new 9'x11' red and white canopy being made for us by Marti's Awnings in Chico, CA.
Just today I spent several hours getting in and out (5 times) of the cargo hold to run HDMI and Coaxial cables across the ceiling of the cargo hold and up to the Vizio TV which I mounted on the rear wall. The bed takes up the space above the cargo area. A section hinges up to allow access to the cargo area from the inside also. I don't know how I managed to get into that small space to tack the cables up while sliding around on the floor. Can you say 'Muscle Spasms'...I can! Almost time for my pain med
Thanks for your encouragement and inspiration, Gary.

Please excuse me, I refered to your trailer as a Corvette. I should have said Aristocrat "Kini"!

Reviving a 2-year old thread here.... I know there are a few who cut their 12 x 12 tiles down to 6 x 6, or just shy of that to allow for blade width. I'm considering doing that, and laying them in a diamond pattern rather than the typical checkerboard. Has anyone done this that may have photos of it? Is it too busy with the smaller tiles?

Hi Theresa, 6x6 is pretty small. 9x9 is more traditional, I think. I used 6x6 in my tiny bathroom, but 9x9 in the rest of the trailer. I did them diagonally using a table saw and made a simple jig to cut the triangular pieces around the edges. Here are my pictures.Good Luck! Gary

Gary Yes, 9x9 is the more traditional method, but there was some talk on another thread awhile back about going down to 6x6 to eliminate waste (not that this is my reasoning). I was just curious if anyone had done it and what it would look like.

I saw your photo Gary, great work by the way, which is sort of what led me in my current state of thought. I was hopeful someone would have a photo of a completed trailer with that size/pattern combination so I can see what it would look like in its final state. I'm sorry, I should have been more descriptive.

I bought my Armstrong VCT tile at Home Depot, and for anything other than white, you had to special order a whole 45 sq. ft. case, so I wouldn't worry about waste. It's pretty cheap.

Question#1 Has anyone cut the tiles down to 9x9 even if the tiles are the same? Hubby didn't like the idea of 2 different colors, so we stayed with one. I want know if cutting them smaller would make a difference in how the floor looks
Question #2 Gary, what is the black strip going around the pattern in the middle of the floor? I really like that look.
