If you do polish I've found Sharkhide polished metal sealer. It was recommended to me by a guy who has a polishing shop.

My 54 Bellwood is one of the best built trailers I have. That being said, I've seen another 54 that was less quality. Both the same size and similar inside appointments. Mine has 1" J rail/edge trim and the other didn't. Not sure about the skin quality.

I'm pretty sure the Sportcrafts in 57 didn't have paint, though other years had some stripes. They were also cheap trailers, so you could be onto something vintagehotdog. Windborn, I like the look. Do you remember what gauge aluminum was used on this Sportcraft trailer?

Very cool pics, I wish I knew what my Compact would look like with no paint. ( terrible with the dents) but theoretically speaking. I really think my favorite bare metal is still the ones with the 6 inch break in it. Seen some photos of the 50s shastas, awesome.
