The 2009 Airflyte was a dud for a couple of reasons that I can see - few windows, all electric only (no LP system), and no obvious connection to Shasta heritage. The 2015 retro will probably be sold out of the limited run shortly after it is officially introduced. Keep in mind that almost everything you've heard to date has been promo work by a dealer, not the factory. At the Open House in mid-Sept, dealers will see the real deal for the first time. Once the retros are gone, the market for good vintage units could see a spike in price.

One thing I totally believe is that the new trailers won't cause a Change in value of the old ones. I believe that is controlled by the condition of the economy. The desire is there already and the more people that can afford to purchase these trailers the higher the price will go because we are dealing with a limited number of old trailers that are available. Every year they get harder to find in most of the country.

I'm still thinking almost 20K on the *new* Airflyte... Other retros are selling close to that.

You can order a 16' from Mount Comfort in IN or DeHaan in WI for $14,999. There are some saying others are charging more, and others charging less! The only question was the add-on for the 19' length. DeHaan first guessed about 1000/ft more or $3000, but after talking with the rep revised that down to about only $750. I'll let you know what the final number is when it's set .

I am surprised to see mostly negative comments. There will be only 1941 of these produced so the impact in miniscule. I think it is neat that they are departing from their bread and butter of white boxes to do this. Did someone say they didn't think they could do worst to a Shasta? This is a step up from their new models and they are actually trying to stay as close to original as possible. The bathroom comes from the market, girls want bathrooms plain and simple. I want a bathroom too! I applaud Shasta for doing this. I don't have, and wouldn't pay the price they are asking, but at least they are trying to stay as true to the vintage design as much as possible. It is a step up from their current models and in any case 2000 of these will not change the world.

Hey we're all pretty excited about it too. We're just poking fun at them. I thought it would be cool to see a new one next to an old one at a rally....

I'm still thinking almost 20K on the *new* Airflyte... Other retros are selling close to that. Guess I'm thinking "here" on the Pacific Coast... They add shipping and more. I'll let everyone know pricing as well. However, the only Shasta sales I've found nearby are in British Columbia...

Once the retros are gone, the market for good vintage units could see a spike in price. A big reason the 2009 Airflyte failed was it rolled out in the fall of 2008, just as the economy collapsed. Lots of dealers went out of business then, and manufacturers collapsed or consolidated. The concept is clever. The interior is very stylish laid out well. I owned one and loved it but am moving to a larger trailer now that my kids are bigger. It's a perfect trailer for a single or couple. The all-electric design is a problem though if you want to dry camp.
