Might be a good idea, kind of a courtesy "heads-up"....But I think I am going to wait just a bit, since my dr just got me set up to see the cardiologist. Perhaps after those appointments are passed....

There was 100-plus-year-old woman on the national news last month; when asked the secret of her longevity, she said she eats bacon 3 meals a day. Atkins had it right!

Wonder if you could substitute turkey bacon and chicken sausage - then you could eat it every day, right? Maybe a little tofu-something-or-other on the side...? Um, Hoosier, that's not quite the idea here... I hate Tofu! LOL. I'm gonna make bacon explosion at least once!

I do like tofu - in extreme moderation! But yes, I think we'll have to try it at least once. (Ought to call this section "Guilty Pleasures"! What would life be without them...?!)

On another site for vintage cars I'm on they have a thread for just bacon stuff. Might as well use this thread for that too! Sorry, I forgot to post these for yall on National Hot Dog Day. So anyway, here we have Ball Park Franks wrapped in smoked bacon on a King's Hawaiian bun with a mustard and cheese bed, topped with home grown and canned zucinni relish...MMMMMmmmmmm The dogs wrapped in bacon were cooked in a foil wrap just above hot coals. Home grown and canned bread & butter pickel chips with onions on the side. Dang! I just made myself hungry again....

Manufacturers calling anything made with turkey "bacon", "sausage" or "bologna" should be against the law. None of them are anywhere close to the real thing. Turkey is turkey and needs to be full of stuffing and next to the cranberry sauce, that's what god made it for Seriously though, as far as tofu (yuk) goes, I've read that 93% of the U.S. soy crop is genetically-modified. I'll pass.

My 92-year old dad has steak, sausage or bacon with eggs virtually every morning, then lights up his pipe.

My wife had two stints put in last year, her cholesterol was right at 100, her cardiologist told us that you can change what you eat and how much you exercise but you can't change your genes. But i straightened him out I told him she changes her jeans everyday.

I thought they called that a FATTY, and sounds wonderful, but have to have a lot of folks to eat it.
