I was planning to make a rock guard until I noticed that when pulling my camper, I can see through my rear view mirror all the way through the front and back windows. If there is a vehicle following me, I easily see it is there. I've also noticed that that road tar and bugs get thrown to the front of the camper, but to the sides of the window. So, I plan to get a good set of mud flaps to mitigate that. Also noticed that the jalousie windows didn't leak in rain if I cranked them solidly closed. I DID install new rubber seals.

I noticed the same thing about being able to see all the way through the trailer when towing. Mudflaps or not, rocks and debris gets thrown to the front of the trailer. The windows are pretty high up but still can be broken by a flying rock. It's not that difficult to replace a window pane. I think it's just a matter of preference. You could fashion a rock guard from plexiglass so that you would be protected and still have some visibility.

I don't really care who is behind me or what they are doing. After all..... they are behind me.

This is an older thread but here I am again. I've concluded I'd like to have a front window guard on my trailer (a 1960 Oasis) and I like the look of the one txoil posted. Did you ever share your wisdom on how to make that txoil? Also, a friend of mine saw an old trailer with a great hinge but his camera was broken so no photos. Where do you find the top hinges for a window guard? Inquiring minds want to know.

What is that? We only have clean up crews John. There is NO police presence on the freeways anymore. If there was a presence people wouldn't drive like such idiots. It is my firm belief that air bags should be replaced with explosives. And helmets should be illegal on motorcycles.

I've had this same question about my Oasis. it never came with a rock guard but has a huge front window. I've considered adding a guard for safety but wonder if I'm just being neurotic and it doesn't really need one. I'd appreciate feedback also I'm new here and not sure how this works but I'm almost finished fully restoring a1967 Oasis. It has a huge original front window and I'd like a rock hiatus to protect it but want it to look vintage and not block too much light. I spent over 300 hours just on restoring the windows, so I'm neurotic about them for sure. I'd love to get a contact on where you can have them made? How do you post pics? I'll have to study up here(; thx
