Perhaps someone here can help. I am repairing a newer trailer that recently had a small fire in it. I have scrubbed down all surfaces to remove smoke residue. Unfortunately the ceiling in one area has discolored. And also unfortunately, the ceiling is those wood panels that are covered with white plastic. My question is, can the ceiling be painted? Many thanks for any advice.

You might try painting it with Kilz and then repaint your entire ceiling so it all matches. Kilz will cover a stain but you need to make sure it will stick to your ceiling. We had a brand new mobile home years ago, I can't remember for sure what the ceiling was made of, but probably the same thing. It had a small leak and water stain shortly after we purchased it and the mobile home company repaired it and I think that is what they used. So, you might check with a mobile home or RV business and see what they would use.

Try some Fusion plastic paint if you can find a color that matches...

I saw plastic paint and primer at Lowe's in the Valspar brand.
